A Day in the Sun

Here's some chalk art that the kids did on the trampoline. We've found that chalk slides so nicely on the trampoline and that our knees don't get hurt so the kids spend lots of time drawing all sorts of crazy fun stuff up there. Aurelia's dinosaur with the big teeth (a little smudged now). A Pteranodon.
Aurelia's snow castle, complete with snowman (on bottom right hand) and two princesses (in the two towers) and snow flakes in the sky. Hey - if you can't live in them, draw them. That's the best kind of snow . . .in my book.

And, lastly, here's my Oli in the rocks. What a cute little "gator"!

Twins

We love you, Mima! Thanks for coming over tonight! We had a lot of crazy fun! and girl, you huge!

Africa is calling . . .

Some of you are aware that Jason spent some time with the Osbournes in Kenya, Africa in 1998. The year before we were married. I so desperately wanted to go, but didn't have the finances. Before Jason went, I don't think he had ever really considered Missions as his calling, but when we returned I was overjoyed to find that he felt as strongly about Africa as I did and we both knew that God would call us to Africa "someday."
Hoyt and Lois have long had an orphanage on their hearts for Kenya because it is heavily riddled with AIDS and many children lose their parents to this terrible disease and are in need of love and care. Their dreams are finally being realized as God has brought some people into their lives who are helping them start the organizing and building of these homes for orphaned children. You can pray for them as they work on these and many other new opportunities for sharing Christ's love in Kenya in practical ways. Pray for Hoyt's health (back problems due to a car accident and Parkinson's Disease) and for their many projects. They go home to Kenya in 7 days. Pray for a safe flight.
Here are some photos of the short, but sweet time we got to spend with them in our home on Sunday.
Aurelia with her new, fast friend, "Ziggy" (David.)
Jason with two of the boys he got to know while he was in Kenya(Shadrach, Jason, David).
Jason and Hoyt and Lois.
And, no, we still don't know when we're going to Africa. You can pray for us that God will prepare us to go in His perfect timing.

The Sounds of Silence

So - It's been a while since I've been able to blog. We've been sick (again!) I think we're going on one major sickness per month this winter - which means that not only have the kids been ill, but so have I. Guess who takes longer to recover . . . ok. Don't.

Also, Jason had the opportunity to go away last weekend (Friday to Monday) with some men from the church. They went to Tijuana/Rosarita, MX to build a two bedroom house (with a loft!) with Casitas for Christ. It even had electricity! They worked HARD (and Jason's back is still feeling it!)

So - four long days for momma, and guess what? I didn't do a thing! It was great! I even got two novels read. But now it's back to life and it took a while for the house to recover from a weekend of doing nothing.

We've had some fun developments with the sleeping arrangements, which means that I don't get to play on my PC at naptime so much, so you don't get photos (again!) . . . ohwell, I don't think I've taken any great photos to post anywho.

We did get to go to the Stockton Children's Museum - THAT was a lot of fun! They had a real Fire Engine, Police Car, Ambulance, Bus, Motorcycle and Tractor for the kids to play on -- among other neat hands-on things to do! I suggest you try it some rainy day - the drive wasn't bad at all.

What else? not much - but if something comes up - I'll let you know!
